Stories of Our Successes:

We isolated weaknesses with regards to their internal procedures and process, recreated job descriptions based on current workflow, and recruited new personnel that better fit into the Firm’s culture. Finally, we worked with the Firm to create a better training system by directing an Request For Proposal process for a new Document Management Program. We managed the conversion from beginning to end to make absolutely sure that the new system worked in the most efficient way possible. After this project, we then assisted in hiring a new Operations Manager for the Firm to oversee the daily operations of the Firm while allowing LMS to oversee the more complex issues on an as needed basis going forward- all at a much smaller cost overall to the client.

Story #2

Legal Management Solutions was brought aboard to oversee the process of a Strategic Planning Retreat for the Partners of the Firm. We isolated specific needs of the Firm with regards to client development and associate training. The Firm has begun to utilize the information and solutions from the retreat to work on client development from a renewed perspective from all levels. In addition, based on a review of the Firms various insurance policies, LMS was able to work with a trusted and experienced insurance brokerage that specializes in Law Firms to write policies that would more fully cover the Firm while saving the Firm 40% on their annual premium. In addition, the new broker has made a plan with the Firm to update the Firm quarterly on any updates as well as planning ahead for any changes.

Story #3

After a quick meeting with LMS, our client asked us to oversee their conversion of a new Document Management Program since their current version had created numerous issues rendering their internal processes inefficient. We met with the new Program’s installation technicians from day to oversee not only the conversion but the schedule and budget of the installation. Even with the expected and unexpected hurdles that came up during the process, the Firm implemented the new system on time with training set in a way that the success of the new system was guaranteed. The amount of time spent on this process more than paid for itself for the Firm as the partners were able to spend their time working (and billing) clients while only needing to attend infrequent and scheduled meetings on the conversion process. The proper implementation of this system also allowed the Firm to update their billing and collections process which increased their cash flow rather quickly.

Story #4

While creating their new partnership, our client realized that the amount of work necessary to open even a small law firm was too much for their Administrator to handle alone. We came aboard to set a schedule and plan for getting the Firm off the ground as the partners worked hard to retain former clients. We assisted with building lease negotiations, equipment and IT purchases, financial reports and budgets, and well as recommending staffing positions necessary for upcoming growth. Once the Firm was able to get the initial plans off the ground, we were retained (and budgeted) to assist on a case by case basis going forward with the Firm administration.

Story #5

Our client started with simply needing a new bookkeeper to reconcile their books. We assisted with the process in a very timely manner while recommending some adjustments to their financials going forward. From this, we created a new budget and billing process and have assisted the client in some collection efforts. This was minimal effort by LMS but a big step forward for the client- at a much bigger savings than hiring a full time accounting manager based on their size. As the Firm grows, we have been retained by the client to assist with all new staff and attorney hiring as well as strategic planning.
